Yongyuth resigns as Pheu Thai leader, MP
“Yongyuth” has resigned as Pheu Thai party leader and party list MP effective today. (He said he) didn’t want the party to be criticized as lacking ethics.

At 13.30 p.m. (Thursday October 4) at the Pheu Thai Party (headquarters), Mr Yongyuth Wichaidit, former Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, in his status as leader of Pheu Thai Party announced his resignation as Pheu Thai Party leader with effect from today. Mr. Yongyuth explained that even though two entities, the Council of State and the Civil Service Commission, had made an interpretation of the law and confirmed that he was eligible to hold political positions, he viewed the Pheu Thai Party as belonging to Thai people throughout the country. And since he didn’t want his beloved party to be criticized, he wanted to show political spirit by resigning from both his positions in the Pheu Thai Party.
